Aalya takes a dislike to Aeon's approach to droids in his work. Val talks to Aeon and realises he is a bit sore about not having his own ship. When he's asked about it he says he lost his ship to a pirate attack. Val's sure he is being less that truthful.
After agreeing to take the job Che'riss, Dr Mentzer and Aeon leave the Crew alone with Ganio who has a quiet word. Just after Che'riss has left he says "he's not fooling anyone with they crazy accent you know" he says shaking his head", Val as Wes asks why he thinks Che'riss a he? Ganio asks if has info to share, Val says maybe later but leaves it at that. Ganio talks to the Crew about the attack in the safe channel out of Typhon, he says that if they didn't deal with them permentaly (they didn't) they'll want to watch their back as the people they stole the Yachut from don't seem none to happy. Val picks up on queues that Ganio knows more and convinces him to share. He says that who ever is paying their cheques has deep pockets and has hired someone very competent. No one really saw anything. They didn't leavy any tracks and they didn't interact with any of his people that he knows off, stealthy and clean. A Pro job. They don't even seem to have docked on the station, It doesn't even seem like the ship docked in docking bay. Ganio then mentions that he has also heard that RiftCo put out a 20,000 credit bounty for some rich kid Clawdite from Chibavaa. And it seems to him that the only place you'd pick up a fancy YV-261 model is in the outer systems and money like that is bound to stir up some interest from the kind of hunters who are looking to make a name for themselves, maybe not the pros, but those with something to prove, the Enthusiastic types he says that if he had a Clawdite on his crew he would definitely want to watch his back on a place like Typhon. It is after all a dirt pile of scum. Just some friendly advice. Although Ganio doesn't know Val is a clawdite Val's calm demeanour slips a little as Ganio talks about matters a little close to home. Likely raising suspicions that the RiftCo Bounty and the Longhorn do seem to be linked as he suspected.
After leaving Ganio the Crew meet with Che'riss who shares that she has received a short call from Colonel Novastar the message is played back: "I have need of your services doctor, and I am contacting you to ensure you have held up your end of the bargain…" there is a pause, "- I see you have not. ...Those who act in my interest prosper, those who act against them. Do not. I wish you the best of luck surviving the consequences of your choices" - The Colonel waring an unconvincing mask of calmness ends the holo-transmission. Val can tell that despite her outward brusque demeanour she is furious. Che'riss also talks to the Crew about "Good Business" which she sems to mean the protection of the Ugnauts from the True Empire. She says that many people are talking about the victory and it is good business to help the little guy. She suggests that if the Crew want to do more good business, presumably standing up to the Empire? They should contact her when they get back from their current job for Ganio.
After getting some free Drinks from Che'riss the Crew decide the most pressing matter is to get under way. They head to the Landing bay and meet Aeon and Dr Mentzer. They load Aeon's droids and tech onto the Longhorn. Dr Mentzer meets Tsubatchcark who takes a liking to her pack. Dr Aria travels light.
The Longhorn heads to Torn Reach to meet a contact of Aeon. During the journey Lorne talks with Dr Mentzer who wants to know how to approach contact with the Maruder Flotilla she hope to find. Lorne recommends surrendering immediately. He also tells her that his wife and son are there. Dr Metzer talks to Lorne for a long time, noting down what he says in her datapad. Lorne seems content to share with someone genuinely interested in his culture, but who can say.
Aeon says that a device used to collate the telemetry for the probe droids needs to be spliced into the ships systems. Aayla doesn't trust him and watches over his work. Aeon does an average job, he offers an excuse about the longhorn system being newer and seems content with the just good enough job. After Aeon leaves Aayla connects up the system in the cargo bar in a fantastic way, it will now work much better. Aeon also says that he needs a console up in the cockpit where he can collate the hyperspace telemetry data from the droids and then pass the new jump vector to the pilot. The Crew, despite his brusque attitude agree.
At Torn reach Aeon reveals that his contact is Braakk Harrad a Klatoonian Brush pilot who does odd jobs around Torn Reach, he's know to Jorus but he only knows he's a pilot and that he drinks at Mirax Shyshy's place. As the Longhorn lands Aeon spots Braak's ship confirming he is in town. Asked if they can trust his contact, Brakk, Aeon says he "find it's healthy not to completely trust anybody" which Val says is a very cynical way to look a the Galaxy, Aeon says he'll learn that lesson eventually. Aeon says that a constant threat of Maruder attacks hangs over Torn Reach, confirmed by Jorus, which means Lorne certainly won't be welcome, but he's pretty scarry so he might help to get his contact to talk.
